SMM, 11 Oct:

The prices of dysprosium oxide and terbium oxide in the rare earth market fell this week. Dysprosium oxide fell from 185-1.88 million yuan / ton at the beginning of the week to 180-1.83 million yuan / ton on Friday, and terbium oxide fell from 385-3.88 million yuan / ton at the beginning of the week to 380-3.83 million yuan / ton on Friday. The price of praseodymium and neodymium oxide is stable at 31.5-320000 yuan / ton during the week, and there is a slightly lower price source in the market. After the 11th Festival, the overall transaction atmosphere of the rare earth market is weak. The heavy rare earths were affected by the customs clearance from Myanmar before the festival, and the market doubted whether the import gates from Myanmar would continue to open in the future. One of the reasons for supporting the rise of dysprosium oxide and terbium oxide in the future was shaken, the market wait-and-see mood was strong, dysprosium oxide and terbium oxide were weak, and there were actually a small number of low-priced dysprosium oxide and terbium oxide supplies in the rare earth market during the week. In terms of light rare earths, the post-festival market is generally waiting for the guidance of the listed prices of northern rare earths to the market, the actual transaction of the market is on the weak side, and most businesses hold a wait-and-see mentality. Although the northern rare earth listing price announcement is flat compared with last month, the rare earth market confidence in the future of praseodymium and neodymium oxide has a certain degree of boost, but some market participants doubt whether the price of praseodymium and neodymium oxide can continue to rise in the future.

SMM believes that at present, it is not clear whether Myanmar's import gate will be opened, which will still support the prices of dysprosium and terbium to a certain extent, and there is limited room for short-term decline in the prices of dysprosium oxide and terbium oxide. Light rare earths, praseodymium and neodymium prices decline is not obvious, it is expected that the future if there is no demand to support praseodymium and neodymium oxide prices will decline, but overall short-term praseodymium and neodymium oxide prices may be weak and stable
