SMM10 9 / PRNewswire-FirstCall-Asianet / Tesla has quietly acquired Canadian battery company Hibar Systems recently.
The company specializes in the manufacture of automatic batteries for electric cars, laptops and "similar products", while Hibar Systems is developing a "high-speed" lithium-ion battery production system.
The acquisition agreement also partly reflects Tesla's current battery strategic plan.
Tesla hopes to speed up battery production by acquiring multiple battery teams. Although Tesla will continue to cooperate with Panasonic and LG chemical suppliers in the near future, Tesla also hopes to control his own destiny as soon as possible.
