China's aluminium foil exports shrink significantly in Aug

The monthly decline grew from a 2.39% drop in Jul, to 13.32% in Aug

SHANGHAI, Sep 26 (SMM) – China's exports of aluminium foil extended their declines in August as they decreased by 13.32% from July and by 9.85% from August 2018 to stand at 98,100 mt in August, the latest customs data showed.

Poor overseas orders accounted for the lower exports last month. The monthly decline grew from a 2.39% drop in July. 

Last month, export volume of aluminium foil under four out of the total five HS codes saw month-over-month declines of 13-16%. Exports of product under HS code 76071120 climbed 9.06%. 

On a yearly basis, exports in January-August remained 5.04% higher.

[SMM Aluminum Express News] Danantara Indonesia, INA, and Chandra Asri Group signed a Conditional Share Subscription Agreement (CSSA) to fund the Chlor Alkali & Ethylene Dichloride (CA-EDC) plant in Cilegon, Banten. INA Acting CEO Eddy Porwanto Poo said the investment supports national priorities, partnering with Southeast Asia’s leading petrochemical player to expand strategic raw materials, advance downstream industries, boost domestic value creation, and strengthen industrial resilience. The USD 800 million National Strategic Project (PSN) will increase local production of Caustic Soda and EDC, cut import reliance, and enhance supply resilience. Danantara and INA will jointly invest USD 200 million, with operations starting in 2027.
