SHANGHAI, Sep 25 (SMM) – China exported some 79,900 new energy vehicles in the first five months of this year, with a value of $260 million, following a 39.4% year-on-year rise in the exports to 147,100 vehicles in 2018, according to the latest customs data.
The volume of NEV imports in January-May amounted to 61,900 units, with the value standing at $2.43 billion.
Domestic imports of NEVs totalled 78,000 units in 2018, up 13.25% on the year.
In terms of models, non-plug-in hybrid electric vehicles and SUVs accounted for the majority of NEV imports in January-May, while pure electric passenger cars and SUVs dominated exports.
