DashboardDatabaseProReportsEventsConsultingSHANGHAI, Sep 23 (SMM) – Lower seaborne prices and expectations of stricter import restrictions bolstered coking coal imports in China to a record high in August, customs data showed on Monday September 23.
Last month, domestic imports of the essential steelmaking ingredient stood at 9.07 million mt, up 30% from August 2018 and exceeding the previous high struck in April 2017.
Imports in January-August this year grew 20% year on year to 52.99 million mt, according to customs data.
