CSPT considers taking in new members

Zhejiang Jiangtong Fuye Heding Copper and Huludao Hongyue North Copper will likely to join China Smelters Purchase Team

SHANGHAI, Sep 19 (SMM) – China Smelters Purchase Team (CSPT), which represents 10 top Chinese copper smelters, is mulling inclusion of two new members, Zhejiang Jiangtong Fuye Heding Copper and Huludao Hongyue North Copper, a source told SMM on Thursday September 19.

The move is set to expand the market share of CSPT members and boost industrial concentration, amid copper raw material supply shortage.

Refining and smelting capacity of CSPT current members accounts for over 60% of the total in China.
