China's excavator sales grow 19.5% YoY in Aug

Excavator sales in China grew 19.5% from a year ago to stand at 13,843 units in Aug

SHANGHAI, Sep 16 (SMM) – Excavator sales in China grew 19.5% from a year ago to stand at 13,843 units in August, according to data from China Construction Machinery Association. Sales were up from 12,346 units in July.

Domestic sales accounted for 11,566 units, up 14.4% year on year, while exports expanded 53.6% to 2,277 units.

This brought sales across the top 25 excavator makers in the first eight months of the year to 163,396 units, with a year-over-year increase of 14.4%.

In January-August, domestic excavator sales rose 12.2% year on year to 146,628 units, and exports grew 37.9% to 16,768 units.

Data from the industry group also showed that loader sales in August rose 7.83% from a year ago to 9,017 units. Sales across the top 22 loader producers amounted to 83,880 units in the January-August period, up 1.87% from the same period last year.
