SHANGHAI, Sep 9 (SMM) – China imported 1.82 million mt of copper concentrate in August, after the figure climbed above 2 million mt for the first time to a record high of 2.07 million mt in July, showed a monthly report by China Customs on September 8.
Imports of copper concentrate in the first eight months of this year amounted to 14.42 million mt, up 10.5% from the same period a year ago.
For the same period, domestic imports of unwrought copper and copper products declined 10.8% year on year to stand at 3.09 million mt.
Exports of unwrought copper and copper products in January-August came in at 3.94 million mt, up 5% from the same period in 2018.
