SHANGHAI, Aug 23 (SMM) – China’s National Energy Administration (NEA) announced on Friday August 23 that the country installed some 11.4 gigawatts (GW) worth of solar photovoltaic (PV) capacity in the first half of this year, bringing the country’s cumulative total to 185.59 GW, up 20% from the same period in 2018.
Among the total, distributed solar accounted for 55.02 GW, up 31% on the year, with centralised solar taking up 130.58 GW, up 16%.
The growth in China's total installed PV capacity slowed from a year ago as the country scaled back its central subsidy system.
