Primary aluminium inventories fall 2,000 mt over weekend

Stocks in most areas posted declines, except for that in Guangdong

SHANGHAI, Aug 19 (SMM) – Social inventories of primary aluminium in China shrank over the weekend, as stocks in most areas posted declines, except for that in Guangdong.

SMM data showed that stocks across eight consumption areas in China, including SHFE warrants, decreased by 2,000 mt from Thursday August 15 to stand at 1.05 million mt as of Monday August 19.

Wuxi, Jiangsu – 314,000 mt

Shanghai – 200,000 mt

Nanhai, Guangdong – 297,000 mt

Gongyi, Henan – 101,000 mt

Hangzhou, Zhejiang – 54,000 mt

Tianjin – 50,000 mt

Linyi, Shandong – 14,000 mt

Chongqing –19,000 mt

Social inventories of lead ingots across Shanghai, Guangdong, Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Tianjin expanded 13,600 mt from last Friday July 23 to 172,600 mt as of July 30. This was up 6,500 mt from Monday July 26 and registered a new high since October 2014.
