SMM8, 16th, news:

The prices of rare earth products in the rare earth market have been mixed this week. At the beginning of the week, due to the influence of downstream demand factors, the prices of most rare earth products, such as praseodymium oxide, dysprosium oxide, terbium oxide, gadolinium oxide and erbium oxide, have fallen. China said on Thursday that it would take the necessary countermeasures in response to the announcement by the Office of the US Trade Representative that it would impose a 10 per cent tariff on about $300 billion in imports from China. The Chinese side had no choice but to do so. The rare earth market was affected by escalating trade frictions between China and the United States on Friday, with prices of praseodymium neodymium oxide, neodymium oxide and gadolinium oxide rising, while dysprosium oxide and terbium oxide remained relatively stable. On Friday, praseodymium and neodymium oxide was quoted at 30-305000 yuan / ton, neodymium oxide rose to 30.2-307000 yuan / ton, gadolinium oxide rose to 17.4-176000 yuan / ton, dysprosium oxide remained at 193-1.95 million yuan / ton, and terbium oxide was quoted at 394-3.98 million yuan / ton.

At present, the actual shipment of praseodymium and neodymium oxide market has decreased compared with the previous period, and market participants are more bullish in the future. It is expected that due to the escalation of trade frictions between China and the United States, short-term praseodymium oxide and neodymium oxide prices may rise or remain strong. The prices of dysprosium oxide and terbium oxide are expected to rise steadily. At present, the import gates of dysprosium oxide and terbium oxide raw materials are still closed, and the price trend of dysprosium oxide and terbium oxide can be expected in the future.
