






SHANGHAI, Aug 14 (SMM) – Production of crude steel in China expanded 5% from a year ago to stand at 85.22 million mt in July, after a year-over-year increase of 10% in June, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said on Wednesday August 14.
This brought production in January-July to 577.06 million mt, standing 9% higher than the same period last year, smaller than the 9.9% rise seen in January-June.
For steel products, production rose 9.6% year on year to 105.82 million mt in July, after it grew 12.6% in June.
Production of steel products in January-July amounted to 697.76 million mt, with a year-over-year increase of 11.2%, slowing from a rise of 11.4% in the first half of this year.
