Orders shrank in a traditional low season for end-users, while high temperature disrupted production

SHANGHAI, Aug 13 (SMM) – Zinc alloy die-casting plants in China scaled back operations last month, as orders shrank in a traditional low season for end-users and as high temperature disrupted production.

An SMM survey showed that the average operating rate across Chinese manufacturers of zinc alloy die-castings decreased by 2.17 percentage points from an upwardly revised 49.87% in June, to stand at 47.7% in July. The rate declined 0.74 percentage point on a yearly basis.

Production of zinc die-castings is expected to recover in August, in anticipation of improved orders and better weather.

Operating rates across manufacturers of zinc alloy die-castings are expected to rebound 0.61 percentage point from July to 48.31% in August, down 2.12 percentage points year on year.
