







SMM8 5-month: southern Copper (Southern Copper) Tia Maria project caused by the controversy is still continuing.
It is reported that on August 5, local time, more than 100 relevant organizations, including professional groups and civil society organizations, will go on strike in support of local residents.
Southern Copper had been approved by the Peruvian government to build the $1.4 billion Tia Maria copper project, but opponents said there would be an indefinite strike.
In the latest development, the Peruvian president said that at the request of the local government, the government will re-examine whether to grant permission to start the construction of the Tia Maria copper mine project at (Southern Copper Corp), a southern copper company.
The Tia Maria project, which is expected to produce 120000 tons of copper a year, is an important part of the Grupo Mexico plan, and Raul Jacob5, the company's chief financial officer, said last month that the company would also invest an additional $10 billion in the plan to increase copper production from 987000 tons this year to 1.81 million tons in 2026.
