Primary aluminium inventories expand 5,000 mt on week

Stocks increased by 5,000 mt from a week ago to stand at 1.04 million mt as of Aug 1

SHANGHAI, Aug 1 (SMM) – Social inventories of primary aluminium in China rose this week, marking the second weekly increase in the past four weeks.

SMM data showed that stocks across eight consumption areas in China, including SHFE warrants, increased by 5,000 mt from a week ago to stand at 1.04 million mt as of Thursday August 1.

Wuxi, Jiangsu – 305,000 mt

Shanghai – 199,000 mt

Nanhai, Guangdong – 274,000 mt

Gongyi, Henan – 107,000 mt

Hangzhou, Zhejiang – 62,000 mt

Tianjin – 53,000 mt

Linyi, Shandong – 16,000 mt

Chongqing –24,000 mt
