Bahrain Aluminium's production rose 21 per cent in the second quarter from a year earlier but lost $50.9 million in the first half of the year

Bahrain Aluminium Company (aluminum Bahrain B.S.C.) Financial results for the second quarter and first half of 2019 were recently released. The company said its performance fell short of expectations in the second quarter and first half of the year, affected by LME prices. In the second quarter of this year, the company's production rose 21% from a year earlier to 305727 tons.

SMM7, 31st: (aluminum Bahrain B.S.C., Bahrain Aluminium Co., Ltd.) Financial results for the second quarter and first half of 2019 were recently released. The company said its performance fell short of expectations in the second quarter and first half of the year, affected by LME prices.

In the second quarter of this year, the company's production rose 21% from a year earlier to 305727 tons. Sales rose 25 per cent from a year earlier to 311928 tons, of which value-added products accounted for 52 per cent.

But the company posted a combined loss of $50.9 million in the first half of the year, and its gross profit fell 78% in the first half of the year, from $197.7 million to $43.2 million. Total sales also fell 4% from a year earlier.
