Sino-US negotiations restart US Representative's arrival in Shanghai

The US trade negotiator has arrived in Shanghai and will have a working dinner at the Peace Hotel. Shanghai, which witnessed the birth of the Sino-US Joint Communique, believes that miracles will be created again.

12:39 on July 30, Beijing time, the leader of the US delegation, Trade Representative Lettershitzer, arrived in Shanghai; at 15:25, the leader of the US delegation, Finance Minister Mnuchin, arrived in Shanghai. They then arrived at the Maoyue Hotel on the Bund in Shanghai to have a rest.

The working dinner between China and the United States is held at the Shanghai Peace Hotel on the Bund.

The Peace Hotel has witnessed many important scenes of exchanges between China and the United States. Not only did many former US dignitaries such as Bush, Clinton, and Obama come here, but also stayed here when the US ping-pong delegation visited China in 1971.

It is understood that the 12th round of Sino-US high-level economic and trade consultations between China and the United States will be held in the western suburbs hotel.

In 1972, Shanghai witnessed the publication of the Sino-US Joint Communique and played a unique role in the history of Sino-US negotiations. I hope that this time we can open up a new chapter in history again.
