Giyani has obtained environmental approval for two manganese mine projects in Botswana

According to the Canadian Giyani Metals website, the environmental management plan for the company's two manganese mine projects, K.Hill and Otse, has been approved by the Ministry of Environmental Affairs of Botswana, (DEA).

SMM7, 29 March: according to the official website of Canada's Giyani Metals, the (DEA) of the Ministry of Environmental Affairs of Botswana has approved the environmental management plan for the company's two manganese mine projects, K.Hill and Otse.

The two projects had also undergone a month of public review.

During the period from 7 June to 5 July 2019, the company was asked to publish details of the environmental management plan in the official Gazette and in local newspapers. During this period, no stakeholders raised concerns about the two projects.

Giyani Chief Executive Officer Robin Birchall said the company can now shift its focus to the implementation phase and carry out restoration work on the two projects, which will help improve the environmental conditions of the two projects.
