SMM News: from January to June 2019, the production of new energy vehicles reached 607000, an increase of 59% over the same period last year, and the installed capacity of power batteries reached 30.39 million degrees, an increase of 93% over the same period last year.
In 2017, the production of new energy vehicles was 810000, an increase of 56 percent over the same period last year, and the cumulative demand for batteries reached 36.02 million kilowatt-hours of electricity. Battery demand for the period from January to December 2018 was 58.67 million kilowatt-hours, equivalent to a 63 per cent year-on-year increase from a 17-year low growth base.
The number of new energy vehicles exploded from January to June 2019 grew to 610000, an increase of 59 per cent year-on-year. The battery grew to 30.39 million degrees, up 93% from a year earlier, and the January-June extension of 19 had a strong start.
In 2019, the growth rate of battery charge is much higher than that of the whole vehicle, which also reflects the contribution of the overall strength of new energy vehicles to the battery, and makes a good contribution to the industry.
Judging from the battery installed capacity of different models in the first six months of 2019, the battery demand of passenger cars is very strong, reaching 22.82 million kilowatt-hours of electricity, an increase of nearly 1.5 times, the capacity of bus batteries has decreased from the same period last year, and the demand for electricity for special-purpose vehicles has increased sharply. In June, the battery demand for special-purpose vehicles was 620000 degrees, nearly tripling from 200000 degrees in the same period last year.
The average capacity of bicycles reached 50 degrees in the first six months of 2019, of which 52 degrees in June, compared with 44 degrees in June 2018, 52 degrees this year, mainly due to structural effects. Compared with 2018, the average bicycle capacity of passenger cars increased from 28 degrees to 41 degrees in 2019, the average bicycle capacity of passenger cars increased from 161 degrees to 166 degrees, and that of special purpose vehicles increased from 50 degrees to 102 degrees.
Ningde's market share reached 47% from January to June, compared with a sharp increase in 2018, BYD's battery market share was 25%, also up from 2018. As a result of the increase in the installed capacity of the first two battery companies, the share of the third and fifth battery companies fell relatively, from 16% in January-June 2018 to 11% in 2019, while the rest of the intermediate enterprises changed little.
