SHANGHAI, Jul 18 (SMM) – A 2.5GWh soft-packed ternary battery factory, jointly founded by battery makers JEVE and SVOLT, held a construction commencement ceremony on Thursday July 18.
With investment of 1.5 billion yuan, the plant, located in Yancheng of east China’s Jiangsu province, is designed to have four production lines for ternary lithium-ion batteries in soft package and is expected to come online in the first half of 2020.
JEVE is funded by Fosun High-tech, while SVOLT Energy Technology is the battery division of Chinese carmaker Great Wall Motor.
