Zambian Minister of Mining: hope to bid for Konkola Copper Mine within a few weeks

SMM News: July 17, Zambian Mining Minister Richard Musukwa said on Wednesday that nine companies will submit tender documents for the Konkola copper mine within a few weeks. The Konkola copper mine is in the midst of a ownership dispute with Vedanta, a Mumbai-listed company.

"once all companies have done due diligence, the bidding process will begin and we hope this will be completed within a few weeks," Musukwa said at a news conference. " Companies from Russia, Turkey, Australia, Canada and China are conducting due diligence, he added.
