SMM Network News: through mineral geological survey and prospecting prediction, this paper further studies the metallogenic regularity and prospecting criteria of lead-zinc deposits in Huohuoyun whole exploration area of West Kunlun, Xinjiang, so as to provide a basis for mineral exploration and prospecting prediction in this area. Maanshan, Niulangshan and other lead-zinc ore spots were newly discovered near the periphery of Huoshuoyun lead-zinc deposit, and the target area of Maanshan was optimized for drilling verification. High-grade lead-zinc blind orebodies were found in deep boreholes. The mineral composition, structure type and ore-bearing layer were highly similar to those of Huoshaoyun lead-zinc deposit. The prospecting space of Huoshaoyun lead-zinc metallogenic belt was extended from northwest to Maanshan and from southeast to Niulangshan, expanding the prospecting space to nearly 15km. It has laid an important foundation for further prospecting breakthrough.
1. Project profile
The integrated exploration area of Huoshaoyun lead-Zinc Mine in West Kunlun, Xinjiang is a national integrated exploration area established in 2016. The sub-project "Mineral investigation and Prospecting Prediction in the whole Exploration area of Xinjiang West Kunlun Huoshaoyun lead-Zinc Mine" belongs to the project of "Prospecting Prediction and Technology Application demonstration" undertaken by the China Geological Survey Development Research Center of the Ministry of Natural Resources. It was undertaken by the eighth Geological Battalion of Xinjiang Geology and Mineral Resources Bureau. The project cycle is 2017-2018. The main goal is to evaluate the mineralization of lead-zinc deposits in Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous strata and to find out the metallogenic background conditions of lead-zinc deposits.
two。 Introduction to results
The main results are as follows: (1) there are mainly two types of lead-zinc mineralization represented by burning cloud-type strata-controlled lead-zinc deposit and Dobaoshan (structural ore-controlling) lead-zinc deposit. Based on the study and spot inspection of typical deposits such as Huoshuoyun and Dobaoshan, this paper summarizes and puts forward six effective prospecting criteria, such as ore control of the second lithologic layer of the Longshan formation of the Middle Jurassic, NE fault control, the surface oxidation of the orebody is brown, the mineralized body is generally positive topography, the association of trans-stone (ore) and the abnormal combination of Pb-Zn-Cd elements in geochemical exploration are well combined. It provides an important basis for special mapping and prospecting prediction of 1: 50000 mineral geological survey in this area.
(2) through the special mapping of 1: 50000 mineral geology and the survey of 1: 50000 stream sediments in Nice Chu amplitude in 2017, the special mapping of 1: 50000 mineral geology and the anatomy, comprehensive study and prospecting prediction of typical ore deposits were carried out in Jinyushan area in 2018. Five lead-zinc prospecting targets of Maanshan and Huoshuoyun lead-zinc deposits near the periphery, Niulang Mountain, Changping Mountains and Waitoushan have been delineated (figure 1). Among them, the lead-zinc orebodies in Maanshan and Niulangshan target areas occur in the carbonate rocks of Longshan formation of Middle Jurassic, and the ore minerals are mainly carbonate minerals (smithsonite), which is highly similar to the geological characteristics of Huoshaoyun lead-zinc deposit. Through large-scale special geological mapping and trough exploration in Maanshan target area, a lead-zinc mineralization zone with a length of 180 m and a width of 5 to 10 m was found on the surface. Verified by drilling in favorable position, 1.09 m thick lead-zinc blind orebody (lead + zinc grade 18.69%) was found at the depth of 187.42 m. The mineral composition of the ore is mainly smithsonite, the structure is mainly fine-fine grain structure and massive-grain layered structure, the surrounding rock is mudstone-fine grain limestone, and the mineralization layer is the lower part of the ash rock section of Middle Jurassic Longshan formation. It is consistent with the main mineralized layer of Huoshuyun lead-zinc deposit and the characteristics of Niulangshan (Fig. 2, chart I-a / d). It is a layer-controlled lead-zinc deposit related to the carbonate rocks of the Middle Jurassic Longshan formation. The prospecting space of Huoshaoyun lead-zinc deposit is extended to Ma'anshan in the north-west and Niulang Mountain in the south-east, so as to expand the lead-zinc prospecting space in the periphery of Huoshaoyun near 15km.

In addition, the Waitoushan lead-zinc deposit is newly discovered in the southeast of Huoshaoyun lead-zinc mine. The ore spots occur in the clastic rocks of the Upper Triassic Keleqinghe formation. The orebodies are controlled by the NE-trending fault structural belt, the ore minerals are dominated by galena, and the ore structure is mainly breccia and veinlets (Fig. I-e). Two lead-zinc orebodies are circled, with a length of 430 to 450 m, a width of 12.55 to 14 m and a lead grade of 0.72% to 8.81%. The characteristics of the orebody are consistent with those of the Dobaoshan lead-zinc deposit, indicating that there are similar types of lead-zinc deposits on the south wing of the Heweitan fault and on the north wing of the fault where the Dobaoshan lead-zinc deposit is located.

(3) on the basis of the results of the sub-project, the provincial financial funds completed the drilling workload of 52400 m from 2017 to 2018. 1.8 million t of new lead and zinc resources were submitted near the periphery of Huoshuoyun lead-zinc deposit, 1 large-scale lead-zinc mine in Yuanbaoling and 1 small-scale lead-zinc mine in Jinyushan were discovered and submitted. Many prospecting clues were also found, such as fossil mountain south, leopard mountain, elephant trunk mountain, Wangnan mountain, Linshuiya, Honghuangling and so on.
3. Significance of achievement
Through the implementation of the project, the metallogenic regularity of lead and zinc in West Kunlun area is further summarized, the regional metallogenic model and prospecting prediction model are constructed, and a number of prospecting targets are delineated. Maanshan, Niulangshan and other lead-zinc ore spots have been discovered near the periphery of Huoshuoyun lead-zinc deposit. Through comprehensive verification and study, it is found that the main mineralization layer of Huoshaoyun lead-zinc deposit continues to extend to the northwest (Maanshan) and southeast (Niulangshan). It expands the prospecting space near the periphery of Huohuoyun and expands the prospect of resources. The results of the project have effectively promoted and promoted the exploration investment and prospecting breakthrough in the whole exploration area and its surrounding areas, and also provided a reference for the prospecting of the lead-zinc metallogenic belt in the eastern part of the Tethys metallogenic belt between China and northern Tibet.
