Although the third-generation Renault Zoe is reported to have improved in appearance, power and mileage compared with the 2012 models, it has not changed much, even the same size, but this has not hindered the determination of French consumers to buy an electric car. In the first half of 2019, the number of consumers who decided to buy pure electric vehicles rose 46 per cent from a year earlier.

SMM News: although the third-generation Renault Zoe has improved in appearance, power and mileage compared with the 2012 models, the change is not big, even the size is exactly the same, but this has not hindered the determination of French consumers to buy an electric car. In the first half of 2019, the number of consumers who decided to buy pure electric vehicles rose 46 per cent from a year earlier.

In the first six months of this year, sales of electric vehicles in France reached 21006, accounting for 1.8 per cent of all new car transactions. During this period, total sales of new cars in France also fell from a year earlier, down 1.8 per cent to a total of 1166443 vehicles. The increase in sales of pure electric vehicles shows that the popularity of electric travel in France is increasing.

C é cile Goubet, secretary-general of the French electric vehicle development association Avere-France, said: "2019 will be a record year. In June, a total of 4500 electric vehicles were sold in France, and total sales in the first half of the year were 46 per cent higher than last year, and the market is following this upward trajectory. The emergence of new models, as well as the development of the financial project ADVENIR for household charging equipment, are positive signs that they will accelerate the development of electric travel in France. "

In June, sales of pure electric vehicles in France focused on three models: the Renault Zoe (41 per cent of sales), the Tesla Model 3 and the Nissan leaf. Although it still holds a big lead, the Renault Zoe's sales share is down from June 2018, with the model accounting for 61 per cent of national electric car sales in the same period last year.

In other electric models, PHEV sales rose 20 per cent in the first half of the year from a year earlier. During this period, hybrid sales accounted for 4.96% of total sales, while plug-in hybrid vehicles accounted for only 0.68% of sales.

Ethanol gasoline is now popular in France, so flexible fuel cars have become another favorite choice for consumers in addition to electric models. Even some petrol-electric hybrid cars are starting to use engines that support ethanol gasoline or natural gas.
