SMM, 10 Jul: today, the website of the solid waste Center announced the 10th batch of restricted public notice forms for 2019, which contains a list of six categories of scrap copper import approval documents, involving a total of 124450 tons of imported scrap copper approval documents. SMM can draw the following information through the analysis.
I. approval documents are still published in batches by region
The number of enterprises involved in this approval is mainly concentrated in Guangdong, Zhejiang, Anhui, Tianjin and Jiangxi, while the first batch of approval is mainly related to Zhejiang enterprises, Anhui Chujiang new materials and other enterprises; other regions and enterprises import scrap copper approval is still under examination and approval.
2. This approval is issued quarterly according to the import volume of six categories of scrap copper last year, and is expected to be higher than the amount of six categories of scrap metals imported in the third quarter of last year.
According to SMM, the approval documents for the six categories of scrap are issued on a quarterly basis, and the amount of scrap copper approvals now accounts for about 30 per cent of the total amount of scrap six categories in 2018, and the amount of approval received by most enterprises is higher than the actual import volume of enterprises in the third quarter of last year.
It is known that the first and second batches of approvals involve 364879 tons of copper scrap imports, accounting for 90.7 percent of the six categories of physical tons imported in the third quarter of last year, and 56 percent of the copper scrap in the third quarter of last year. Although the approval is issued quarterly, but most of the enterprise feedback approval volume does not need to be consumed in the third quarter, can be before the end of the year.
III. Rapid lifting of imported grade of scrap copper
Through the comparison of the data, it is found that the average grade of imported scrap copper in May 2019 is 84.34%. If calculated according to the grade of 84%, the amount of scrap metal involved in the approval has reached as much as 82% in the third quarter of last year. It is almost the same as the actual import of six categories of scrap metals in the third quarter of last year. Considering that the amount of approval of enterprises in some areas is still in the process of approval, from the point of view of approval, it can basically make up for seven types of gaps.
However, the number of approvals in the fourth quarter is still full of uncertainty, and follow-up attention still needs to be paid to the progress of scrap copper approvals.
