China Southern Power Grid to invest over 170 billion yuan in Pearl River Delta in 5 years

This is aimed at building an energy security system to help the region develop into an international first-class bay area

SHANGHAI, Jul 10 (SMM) – China Southern Power Grid said on Tuesday July 9 that it plans to spend more than 170 billion yuan in grid construction in the Pearl River Delta region in five years.

The Guangzhou-based State-owned enterprise aims to build an energy security protection system to help the region develop into an international first-class bay area.

Data published by China’s National Energy Administration on Thursday showed that 59.6 billion yuan was invested in power generation projects in China in the first three months of 2020, up 30.9% from the same period last year.
