Lundin's acquisition of Chapada Copper and Gold Mine in Brazil is expected to produce 54500 tons of Copper in 2019

Canada's Lundin Mining announced on Friday that it had successfully acquired Brazil's Minera ç ã o Marac á Ind ú stria e C é rcio, which owns Chapada copper and gold mines. The mine is expected to produce 54500 tons of copper and 100000 ounces of gold this year.

SMM7, 8th March: Lundin Mining of Canada announced on Friday that it had successfully acquired Brazil's Minera ç ã o Marac á Ind ú stria e C é rcio, which owns Chapada copper and gold mines.

Earlier in April, Lundin said it planned to buy the company from Yamana Gold for $800m.

The Chapada copper and gold mine is expected to produce 54500 tons of copper and 100000 ounces of gold this year.

Lundin Mining operates in Brazil, Chile, Portugal, Sweden and the United States, mainly producing copper, nickel and zinc. The company also has an indirect 24 per cent stake in Freeport Cobalt Oy, including a cobalt refinery in Kokkola, Finland.
