SMM7, 8 March -: Independence Group (IGO) 's Nova nickel copper mine in Western Australia exceeded its annual production target in fiscal 2019, with nickel production of 30708 tons, copper production of 13693 tons and cobalt production of 1090 tons.

The previous annual production target was 27000 to 30, 000 tons of nickel, 11000 to 12500 tons of copper and 850 to 950 tons of cobalt.

But production at the company's Tropicana project, also in Western Australia, fell short of expectations, with gold production of 518172 ounces, below the company's annual production target of 500000-550000 ounces.

In the first quarter of this year, the Nova project produced 8375 tons of nickel and 3731 tons of copper, breaking the company's record.
