Metro Mining and Chinalco agree to deliver 420000 Wet tons of Bauxite in the second half of the year

SMM7 5-Metro Mining (Metro Mining) has signed an agreement with Chinalco Group (Aluminum Group) to deliver 420000 wet tons of bauxite in the second half of this year.

The bauxite will be shipped to smelters in Shanxi, where capacity has been affected by a reduced supply of bauxite.

The smelter is also planning to upgrade its smelting conditions to meet the processing requirements of Metro bauxite.

At present, Metro Mining has successfully met 90 per cent of its sales target of 3.3 million-3.5 million wet tons of bauxite in 2019.

According to SMM statistics, China's bauxite imports in May 2019 were 9.7091 million tons, an increase of 33.18 percent over the same period last year, and a decrease of 4.59 percent from January to May. The total amount of bauxite imports from January to May was 47.0256 million tons.
