SMM News: from July 1 to 3, 2019, the 13th annual meeting of new leaders of the World Economic Forum (Summer Davos Forum) will be held in Dalian.
During the forum, more than 1900 political and business circles and media from more than 100 countries focused on Dalian. During the forum, about 200 meetings and seminars will be held, and a series of research reports and statements will be closely focused on new technologies, new ideas, new models, new business type, and so on.

Four major issues
The theme of this year's annual meeting of the new leaders of the World Economic Forum is "leadership 4.0: the way to succeed in a New era of Globalization", motivating participating leaders to explore new strategic models to address global environmental challenges, regional competition, economic disparities and technological change.
The General Assembly believes that globalization 4.0 represents fundamental changes in the global economy, driven by environmental challenges, regional competition, economic inequality and technological subversion, are reshaping the development of enterprises, communities and countries at an unprecedented scale and speed. Therefore, we need new ways of leadership and cooperation to adapt to the new era of globalization. In order to exercise leadership 4.0, we must understand how the new leaders who have had a great impact on the economy are subverting and changing the current industrial model.
Around this theme, the topics of the Forum will be divided into four parts:
Meetings related to "achieving technological leadership" included "promoting strategic technology", "competition for technological power" and "responsible use of 5G".
Meetings related to "maintaining economic leadership" included "China's Economic prospects", "beyond the Trade War" and "focusing on ASEAN: youth and Employment prospects".
Given that climate change will cost a total of $43 trillion by the end of the century, and given that 82 per cent of the world's new wealth was concentrated in the richest 1 per cent last year, the third topic on the annual agenda, "improving responsible leadership", will focus on the actions needed to enhance economic inclusiveness and sustainability, including "Climate change: the next financial crisis?" , "reflection on capitalism" and "how to tax multinational enterprises" and so on.
The fourth topic, "Fostering flexible industry leadership", aims to help business leaders and policymakers take full advantage of the disruptive power of technology to maintain their competitiveness in the era of the fourth Industrial Revolution. The meetings included "is organic growth feasible", "smarter industrial policy" and "accelerating the transformation of clean technology".
Which guests attended
It is understood that there are more than 1800 participants in this forum, representing more than 1000 business leaders, more than 125 dignitaries, more than 190 leaders from start-ups, young scientists, technology pioneer communities, and more than 1800 academic leaders.
In addition, the international characteristics of the annual meeting are obvious: 70% of the participants are from outside Greater China. More than 25 per cent of the delegates from more than 120 countries were women.
Premier Li Keqiang will attend the forum from July 1 to 2. During the meeting, Premier Li Keqiang will attend the opening ceremony of the forum and deliver a special speech, meet with Forum Chairman Schwab and foreign leaders attending the meeting, and have dialogue and exchanges with people from industry and commerce, finance, think tanks, and the media.

This year's conference, under the theme "leadership 4.0: the way to success in a new era of globalization", also focused on current hot topics and keywords.

In 1971, Klaus Schwab, the current chairman of the Forum and a professor at the University of Geneva, founded the European Management Forum, a non-profit international organization. In 1976, the Forum was changed to a membership organization. In 1979, China joined the Forum as a full member and began bilateral cooperation. The 1987 Forum, renamed the World Economic Forum, aims to study and explore problems in the field of the world economy and promote international economic cooperation and exchanges. It is also known as the Davos Forum because it is held at the beginning of each year in the small town of Davos, Switzerland.
In 2005, Schwab put forward the idea of "Summer Davos in China". In 2007, after preparation, the first Summer Davos Forum was held in Dalian. The Summer Davos Forum is the abbreviation of the annual meeting of new leaders of the World Economic Forum. It is held in China once a year, alternately between Dalian and Tianjin.
