Relevant departments of Jiangxi Province are actively studying opinions on promoting the High quality Development of rare Earth Industry in Jiangxi Province

SMM6, 28 July-it is reported that relevant departments in Jiangxi Province are actively studying opinions on how to promote the high-quality development of the rare earth industry in Jiangxi Province. Next, Jiangxi will cherish the status of rare earths, especially southern ionic rare earths, as strategic resources, and support the Southern rare Earth Group to enhance its control of resources and firmly grasp the initiative and voice of resources. We will continue to build a platform to lead the innovation and development of the national rare earth industry, and build platforms such as the rare Earth functional material Innovation Center and the Tyster New material Test and Evaluation Center. At the same time, in the back-end applications, continue to expand the application of rare earth functional materials and devices and other new materials in the industry.

A shares, stimulated by the news of rare earth permanent magnet plate dynamic pull up, Jinli permanent magnet strong pull up more than 5%, Sinosteel Tianyuan, Galaxy magnets, Huawu shares and other stocks have followed.

According to SMM, some market participants believe that if the Southern rare Earth Group further enhances its grip on ionic rare earth mines, or will play a further role in managing and standardizing the mining of ionic rare earth mines, there will be the possibility of restarting the mining of ionic rare earth mines in southern China in the future. In the case of weak domestic and import supply, it is expected to alleviate the shortage of domestic medium and heavy rare earth mineral resources.

Soaring Diesel Prices in DRC Mining Hubs Drive Up Operational and Transport Costs for Mine Operators
The DRC’s mining sector is highly dependent on diesel for power, mining, and cross-border transport, and diesel prices have risen sharply in recent weeks. Prices in Lubumbashi, Likasi, and Kolwezi have reached US$3.1/litre, pushing up transport and operating costs significantly. According to SMM, DRC spot FCA prices remain at around -US$410 to -US$420/tonne. However, soaring sulphuric acid and diesel costs have sharply increased SX-EW production costs, strengthening producers’ resistance to lower prices. Q2 term freight negotiations are now underway, with southbound freight rates up by about US$20/tonne.

Copper Strip Remains the Core Export Product of Copper Plate/Sheet and Strip
According to customs data, the export product mix of copper plate/sheet and strip showed notable divergence in March. Copper strip (YoY +14.3%, accounting for 69%) served as the core growth engine, while brass strip (YoY -16.5%, accounting for 14%) remained weak, with the "copper up, brass down" pattern unchanged. Cupronickel strip and other categories saw significant YoY export growth, effectively offsetting the decline and driving overall positive YoY export growth for the industry.
