SMM6, 27 March: judging from the export data of the General Administration of Customs in May, the export volume of aluminum sheet and strip was 245000 tons, up 5.7 percent from the same period last year, and 9.7 percent higher than the previous month. Against the background that the market generally reflects the decline in export orders, the export data in May improved instead.

According to the survey of aluminum alloy sheet and strip export enterprises by SMM, most of the enterprises that account for more than 30 percent of exports are doing long orders, and export orders did not fall sharply in May and June, and at the end of 2018, after being subjected to the double anti-sanctions imposed by the United States on China's aluminum alloy sheet, export enterprises adjusted the structure of export countries, and the reduction in the United States was basically made up for.

For enterprises with unstable export customers, the current round of tariffs imposed by the United States on 200 billion goods does have a negative impact on export orders in May, but US customers say that goods arriving in Hong Kong before 1 July will not be affected by tariffs. Generally, the shipping time from China to the United States is 30 to 45 days. The month-on-month increase in export volume in May does not rule out that the month-on-month increase in export volume is caused by export grabs, and the export data for June and July may fall from the previous month.

Fed to Keep Large Banks' Capital Levels Unchanged, Postpones Stress Test Reforms Until 2027
The US Fed has announced that it will maintain the capital levels of large banks unchanged during the upcoming stress test cycle (corresponding to the 2026 cycle). At the same time, the US Fed is planning multidimensional reforms to this annual test, aiming to enhance its transparency. The US Fed's Vice Chair for Supervision, Bowman, revealed that adjustments to the stress capital buffer requirements for large banks will be postponed until 2027. This move is intended to provide the US Fed with sufficient time to evaluate potential flaws that may be exposed in its testing models when assessing banks' financial conditions under simulated economic downturn scenarios.
