SHANGHAI, Jun 18 (SMM) – Producers of new energy vehicle battery materials in Sichuan were unaffected in the 6.0-magnitude earthquake that struck in the night of Monday June 17.
Sichuan is the top hub for lithium production in China. Tianqi Lithium, Yahua Group, Sichuan Nengtou Dingshen, Zhiyuan Lithium also told SMM that their lithium salt plants in Sichuan were unaffected.
As of noon on June 18, the earthquake has killed 12 and injured 134, according to the Sichuan government’s Weibo account.
