Arrivals of domestic, imported cargoes grow zinc inventories

Stocks increased by 13,500 mt from Jun 6 to stand at 153,900 mt as of Jun 14

SHANGHAI, Jun 14 (SMM) – Zinc social inventories significantly expanded this week, as smelters stepped up shipments to warehouses for warrants ahead of delivery.

Inflows of seaborne materials also helped grew domestic inventories, while downstream consumers held from making purchases.

SMM data showed that social inventories of refined zinc across Shanghai, Tianjin and Guangdong increased by 9,900 mt from Monday June 10, and by 13,500 mt from Thursday June 6, to stand at 153,900 mt as of Friday June 14.
