SHANGHAI, Jun 14 (SMM) – China’s central environmental authorities will kick off a new round of inspections soon, according to a report from state media Xinhuanet.com on Wednesday June 13.
The first round of probes began in December 2015, as inspectors settled across 31 provinces and cities to investigate local conditions, and included review inspections into rectifications that began in May 2018.
With efforts in more than three years through mid-May, more than 150,000 environmental issues were resolved, over 40,000 companies were penalised and 27,000 people were held accountable.
The report did not state exactly when and where the second round of probes start.
