SHANGHAI, Jun 5 (SMM) – Henan bauxite prices for June rose from May, as new environmental pressure sharply tightened local supplies, SMM learned.
Prices of materials from Zhengzhou and nearby areas gained 20 yuan/mt to 477 yuan/mt. Such materials have an alumina to silica ratio of 4.8 and alumina content of 58%.
Prices of Sanmenxia bauxite climbed by 10-40 yuan/mt to 320-350 yuan/mt for materials with alumina/silica ratio of 4.0 and alumina content of 56%, and by 30 yuan/mt to 506 yuan/mt for higher-quality materials with alumina/silica ratio of 5.0 and alumina content of 58%.
The prices excluded tax but included transport costs.
In May, Henan bauxite prices stemmed their declines that began in December.
