SHANGHAI, Jun 3 (SMM) – China's imports of tin ore shrank 10.2% on the month to stand at 11,724 mt in April, as the 30th-anniversary celebration of Myanmar's Wa State suspended shipment of tin ore for about a week, the latest customs data showed.
Imports in April translated to 2,931 mt in tin content, down 33% from a year ago.
China's production of tin ore rose 8.9% on the month to 6,080 mt in April, standing 18.36% lower on the year.
Last month, imports of refined tin dropped 28% from March, and came in at 136 mt. Refined tin output across China’s smelters registered 13,911 mt in April, suggesting sufficient supplies in the domestic market.
