SHANGHAI, Jun 3 (SMM) – Operating rates across lead-acid battery producers in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Hubei, and Hebei provinces remained unchanged from the previous week and averaged 51.91% in the week to Friday May 31, showed SMM data.
Continued poor consumption drove producers of motive and automotive batteries to expand sales promotion. This eased inventory pressure at producers as it moved inventories to distributors. The average time period for distributors holding their inventories before selling them stood close to a month, with some rising to two months.
Medium-sized and small producers of lead-acid batteries planned to give workers 10-15 days of break during the traditional busy farming season in June.
