Maintenance to impact cold-rolled coil, rebar output at Hunan Valin

It will put all production lines of cold-rolled coil into maintenance on Jun 1-10

SHANGHAI, May 30 (SMM) – Hunan Valin Iron & Steel planned to put all production lines of cold-rolled coil into maintenance June 1-10, SMM learned on Thursday May 30.

This is expected to affect the output of cold-rolled coil by 50,000 mt.

Rebar production will also be affected, by some 50,000 mt, as the steel mill will put a converter of 120 mt into overhaul for up to six days in the first half of June.

[SMM Hot-Rolled Coil Daily Transactions] Spot Transactions Weakened Somewhat

[SMM Daily Hot-Rolled Coil Trading] On March 18, the total daily trading volume of hot-rolled coil among SMM sample enterprises in four cities (Shanghai, Lecong, Tianjin, and Ningbo) was 14,430 mt, down 640 mt day on day, or 4.2%, with up 14.43% YoY on a calendar basis and down 26.56% YoY on a lunar calendar basis.
