SHANGHAI, May 30 (SMM) – China’s exports of aluminium extrusions, bars and rods rose on the month and the year in April, as the yuan weakened last month and as domestic market saturation drove producers to tap markets overseas.
The latest data from the General Administration of Customs showed that China exported 87,200 mt of aluminium extrusions, rods and bars in April, up 0.6% from March and 13.93% from April 2018.
This accounted for 17.52% of the total exports of unwrought aluminium and aluminium products, and the share expanded 1.64 percentage points from the month before.
The yuan depreciated last month to a low of 6.7599 against the dollar in offshore trading.
