Gas leak suspends zinc smelter in Gansu

SHANGHAI, May 28 (SMM) – A zinc smelter with annualised capacity of 100,000 mt in Gansu province suspended after a sulphur dioxide leak incident in the morning of Monday May 27.

The smelter in Chengzhou is owned by Gansu Changba Nonferrous Metals. There were no casualties in the accident and the cause of the leak is under investigation.
