SHANGHAI, May 22 (SMM) – Harbin, the capital of Heilongjiang province in the north, said on May 11 that it will scrap its local subsidies for new-energy vehicle (NEV) purchases after June 25, after central authorities issued a new NEV subsidy policy in March.
Local subsidies for NEV purchases were originally scheduled to expire by the end of 2020. However, the tougher policy issued in March encouraged local governments to end subsidies after a three-month grace period that will end June 25.
NEV buses and fuel cell vehicles are exempted from this new move.
