Iron ore deliveries from Australia, Brazil extend declines on week

A research team at the University of Sussex in the UK recently published its latest study in the journal Results in Chemistry, systematically comparing the electrocatalytic performance of three noble metals—platinum, palladium and ruthenium—in multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) composite electrodes. The study found that palladium black delivers better sensitivity than platinum black in hydrogen peroxide detection, while platinum black holds a distinct advantage in nitrite detection. The findings offer a new material design direction for next-generation medical diagnostics, biosensing and environmental monitoring technologies.

Tharisa has officially received renewable electricity supply from Etana Energy since September 2026, marking a key step for the group in reducing energy costs and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions at its Tharisa mine. The first batch of power comes from a wind farm in Mpumalanga, South Africa, and is expected to meet around 10% of the mine’s current monthly electricity demand.
