SHANGHAI, May 20 (SMM) – Liaoning province's Huludao Zinc Industry under the Metallurgical Corporation of China (MCC) planned to restart a lead, zinc production line on Monday May 20 from maintenance that commenced on April 12, a source told SMM.
The maintenance is expected to affect output of zinc ingot by 4,000 mt and lead ingot by 3,000 mt.
The company uses zinc concentrate and lead-zinc mixed concentrate as raw materials. It sells products of lead ingot to downstream lead-acid battery producers in the north.
With an annualised capacity of 30,000 mt lead ingot, the company produced some 800 mt of lead ingot in April due to maintenance. Output is likely to come in flat at 800 mt for May.
