Operation of China's Integrated Circuit Industry in the first quarter of 2019

The global semiconductor market fell 5.5 per cent in the first quarter of 2019 from a year earlier, according to SIA data.

SMM News: according to SIA data, the global semiconductor market fell 5.5 per cent in the first quarter of 2019 compared with the same period last year. Affected by the decline in the global semiconductor market, the growth rate of China's integrated circuit industry dropped sharply in 2019. according to statistics from the China Semiconductor Industry Association, the sales of China's integrated circuit industry totaled 127.4 billion yuan in the first quarter of 2019, an increase of 10.5 percent over the same period last year. The growth rate was 10.2 percentage points lower than the same period last year and 10.3 percentage points lower than the previous month. Among them, the design industry increased by 16.3% over the same period last year, with sales of 45.88 billion yuan, and the manufacturing industry increased by 10.2% over the same period last year, with sales of 39.22 billion yuan. The sealing industry recorded the largest decline, with growth falling 11 percentage points from the previous month, an increase of 5.1 percent over the same period last year, and sales of 42.3 billion yuan. According to customs statistics, from January to March 2019, China imported 86.46 billion integrated circuits, down 10.7 percent from the same period last year, and imports totaled US $64.98 billion, down 7.7 percent from the same period last year. Exports of integrated circuits totaled 45.97 billion pieces, down 9.5 percent from the same period last year, and exports totaled US $21.877 billion, an increase of 19 percent over the same period last year.
