SHANGHAI, May 17 (SMM) – China's production of alumina expanded to the highest since June of 2017, and posted 6.28 million mt in April, up 4.2% from a year ago, showed the latest data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
This brought output in the first four months of 2019 to 24.54 million mt.
NBS data also showed that domestic output of primary aluminium in April climbed 3.9% from a year ago, to 2.92 million mt, after increased 3.4% year on year in March.
Separately, China's output of refined copper in January-April increased 7.3% from a year ago, to stand at 2.99 million mt, NBS data showed.
