SMM News: according to a report in Chongqing Daily on May 15, the Chongqing Municipal Bureau of Communications has recently issued a special plan for improving the service quality of cruises and taxis in the main urban areas (hereinafter referred to as the "plan"). It is mentioned that the main urban area of Chongqing will pilot pure electric taxis and promote automatic taxis.
Sources from the Chongqing Municipal Bureau of Communications told reporters that the pilot of the pure electric taxi mentioned in the "plan" will begin in the first half of this year, and the price will be the same as the existing taxi price. At present, Changan and well-off electric vehicles have been selected for pilot projects.
Changan and well-off electric vehicles will be adopted
Pure electrification of taxis is becoming a trend. Before Chongqing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Jincheng all took action in pure electric taxi services. Among them, Shanghai has put in the first batch of pure electric taxis in September last year, and Guangzhou has launched a comprehensive promotion of pure electric taxis.
However, the situation in Chongqing is somewhat different. Reporters from the local transportation bureau said that all taxis in Chongqing have long been converted to liquefied natural gas (clean energy). So Chongqing will only launch a pilot application of pure electric taxis in the first half of this year.
In terms of freight rates, Guangzhou has adopted the strategy of keeping the prices of traditional fuel taxis unchanged, while the starting price of Shanghai new energy taxis is 16 yuan / 3 km.
However, replacement costs will be a major obstacle for taxi companies, after Jincheng in Shanxi province launched an incentive policy to subsidize 10,000 yuan per car for replacing taxis with pure electric cars.
Chongqing traffic bureau sources said that Chongqing pure electric taxi prices will be the same as traditional taxi prices, but the relevant subsidy policy is issued by the local municipal finance bureau. In addition, Chongqing will use pure electric vehicles from two car companies for pilot projects, namely Changan and well-off.
The reporter also noticed that districts and counties outside the main urban area of Chongqing had taken the lead in testing new energy taxis. In January this year, 48 BYD e5 pure electric taxis were delivered to the taxi company in Youyang, Chongqing. The car has a combined range of 400 kilometers.
The matching of charging piles is still a challenge.
"in the application of pure electric taxis, we need the mileage of electric vehicles and the construction of charging piles as a matching. In fact, the whole life cycle of electric vehicles is relatively short, so we are only at the pilot stage for the time being." Chongqing Municipal Bureau of Communications said.
Chongqing Municipality issued the "implementation Plan for speeding up the Construction of Electric vehicle charging Infrastructure" in 2016, and plans to provide, in principle, one public charging station for every 1 km of service radius in the main urban area by 2020. A total of not less than 30 public charging stations have been built. Chongqing strives to build 150000 charging piles by 2020, but by the end of 2017, 5044 had been built in the city, according to local media Hualong.
In May 2018, the first batch of 23 charging piles at the main city bus stop in Chongqing were put into operation, which can not only provide charging services for buses, but also for private cars.
A local taxi driver in Chongqing also told reporters that the current number of charging piles in Chongqing can not meet the demand, mileage is also a problem for taxis.
"because of the impact of climate on mileage, the north actually has more advantages than the south in the application of pure electric taxis, and from the point of view of environmental constraints, taxis are large energy consumers. The application of pure electric vehicle is very obvious for clean energy, emission reduction effect, so in the long run, the application of pure electric taxi is also a trend. " Tsinghua University Energy Saving and New Energy vehicle Engineering Center Zhang Chengbin told reporters.
