SMM News: on the 15th, Beijing time, data released by the German Federal Bureau of Statistics on Wednesday showed that the German economy had a steady start to the first quarter, returning to growth after two quarters, mainly driven by increased household spending and the vigorous development of the construction industry.

Germany's gross domestic product (GDP) rose 0.4 per cent in the first quarter from a month earlier, according to the data. The German economy came close to falling into a technical recession last year, with GDP contracting 0.2% in the third quarter and zero growth in the fourth quarter.

GDP rose 0.7% in the first quarter compared with the same period last year, in line with market expectations.
