This is expected to cut the city's annual emissions of nitrogen oxides by 2,000 mt and VOCs by 1,000 mt

SHANGHAI, May 13 (SMM) – Shanghai planned to implement the national VI B emissions standard, one of the world's toughest standards, for light-duty vehicles weighing less than 3,500 kg on July 1, according to a statement by the Shanghai government on April 19.

Sales of substandard light-duty vehicles will be banned from July 1. This is expected to cut the city's annual emissions of nitrogen oxides by 2,000 mt and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) by 1,000 mt.

According to the new VI B standard, the carbon monoxide emission of cars should not exceed 500 mg/km, and the oxynitride emission should not exceed 35 mg/km.

These compared with 1,000 mg/km and 60 mg/km, respectively, in the existing National V standard.

Imported Silver Ingots Were Sold Off at Reduced Prices, While Supply Pressure Eased Marginally
[SMM Precious Metals Market Bulletin] In the silver ingot trading market last week, some suppliers reported that, as spot premiums in China declined and short-term expectations for price increases failed to materialize, import profits could no longer support price locking for April orders. At present, spot cargoes of imported large and small silver ingots were generally being sold off at reduced prices, and some suppliers even sold at a loss due to the need to recover funds or concerns that spot premiums would continue to fall. Approaching the weekend, spot cargoes of imported silver ingots and expectations for short-term supply both decreased, and selling pressure in the market eased marginally.

[SMM Precious Metals] China's Spot Silver Ingot Supply Eased in Late March, Crude Silver Orders Dropped
[SMM Precious Metals Market Flash] Approaching month-end in March, spot silver ingot circulation in China’s spot market was ample. Large imported ingots and crude silver, previously constrained by refining capacity, were slowly entering the market. According to an SMM survey, a crude silver processing enterprise reported that new crude silver processing orders had decreased significantly since the beginning of this week, and processing fees for imported silver ingots had also been lowered.
