China to intensify environmental supervision from mid-May

The MEE will send teams to step up local environmental supervision over water and waste

SHANGHAI, May 13 (SMM) – China’s Ministry of Ecology and Environment said on Thursday May 9 that it will send teams to 25 provinces and cities to step up local environmental supervision over water and waste.

The teams will settle across Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shanxi, Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Fujian, Jiangxi, Shandong, Henan, Hubei, Hunan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Chongqing, Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan, Shaanxi and Gansu on Tuesday May 14, and stay for no more than 10 days.

This round of inspections will targetthe treatment of polluted water, protection of water resources, regulation of solid waste, crackdown on imported wasts, regulations over phosphor mines and processing factories along the Yangtze River and chemical enterprises.
