Improved orders grow Apr operating rates across aluminium sheet/plate, strip producers

The rate gained 2 percentage points from Mar to stand at 75% in Apr

SHANGHAI, May 10 (SMM) – Operating rates across Chinese manufacturers of aluminium sheet/plate and strip gained 2 percentage points from March to stand at 75% in April, up 4 percentage points from the same period the year before, SMM data showed.

Greater orders drove producers to step up production.

SMM expects the rate to remain at 75% in May.
